Friends!!! Myself and Avin are doing awesome!!! Jesus Christ is Lord and we are so blessed to be called his kids!!!
We went to CLA for the Christmas Eve service with the Houghlands, spent Christmas with our families (the Houghlands on Christmas Morning and the Reimers Christmas night) and on Boxing day we went to Vancouver Island to visit Avin's Uncle Richard and his family. Pretty much everyone drove up these old logging roads in 4x4's with guns and ammo and for a couple hrs we just shot targets on the side of a hill! It was awesome!! We shot Winchester rifles, .22's, shot guns, AK-47 type guns ect. Had a a blast! Avins Cousins and family were such good hosts. We ate like Kings the whole time and just had a lot of fun!!

On New Years Eve we both worked at our restaurants, The Vault, and the Washington Avenue Grill, and since then we have just been working hard and getting little details worked out and things organized in preparation for going back to Cambodia.

Reimer's Update!!

Hello Friends!!! I pray you are all doing well!
This update is long overdue, sorry for leaving some of you hanging!!!

I’ll get right to it, I AM A MARRIED MAN!!!

On October 8th, 2011 I married Avin Leigh Houghland from White Rock, BC!!

The Lord blessed us with a gorgeous fall day, and a powerful ceremony where we felt the presence of the Lord!! God is so Good!! He answers prayer!!!!
We had an unreal honeymoon in Mexico, despite the hurricane that blew through our resort!!!!

We are now living in South Surrey off 152nd Street, and we are both working 4 nights a week at restaurants. I am also doing landscaping and construction during the days for friends whenever I can.

This also may come as a surprise to you, but I am no longer working with Victory Churches International. Before Avin and myself were married I made the transition from Victory Churches to the ‘Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.’ As you can well imagine, after being with a ministry for 11 years, it was not an easy transition for all involved.

Avin and myself have both been approved as ‘ Global Workers’ with the PAOC and are now preparing to head back to Cambodia to serve the Lord.

We are planning to live in Phnom Phen, Cambodia for a year to study the language intensely and to serve in various ministries part- time. We also have the opportunity to teach and mentor young people at ‘Impact School of Missions’ in Bangkok, Thailand September 2012 and January 2013.

After our first year in Asia together, we are hoping to continue to plant Churches and make disciples wherever the Lord may call us in Cambodia.

We ask you to please be praying for us as we prepare to head back to the mission field.
Please pray that God would prepare us spiritually in Canada, that He would provide the necessary connections, and that He would provide the finances.

9 More Days!!!!

The Final Countdown is on!!! 9 Days and counting to the BIG DAY!!!
Things are definitely shaping up and coming together!! Avin and myself are really thanking God for that!! Who knew it was this much work to organize a wedding?!!!!!
We have been really blessed by the generosity of our home church, Christian Life Assembly in Langley, our parents and so many others!! Because we are having a much bigger wedding than we originally planned, everyones generosity is truly making this wedding possible!!

Avin has been unreal taking care of all the little details with Abby Penner, our wedding planner, and they have let me take care of all the guy stuff!! It's been great!!

Besides all the wedding planning and work, we have been quite busy as well with the whole application process with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. We have just been approved as ' Global Workers' ( a fancy name for missionaries!) and once we are back from our honeymoon, we will begin raising funds so we can return to Asia and continue serving the Lord out there.

I also have been dealing with the transition process and its effect on the ministry back in Poipet. It hasn't been an easy one by any means, and its not exactly over, but I think we have gotten through the thick of it, thanks in majority to my missions board who really does treat the work in Cambodia as their own. God is so good and so gracious.

So yeah, it's all happening!! If you can make it to Christian Life Assembly on October 8th at 1pm, you are more than welcome to our ceremony and the open reception in the Church Gym afterwards.

Big Announcement!!!!!

Friends, I just wanted to let you all know that last Sunday, July 24th, I proposed to Avin Leigh Houghland and thank God, she said "Yes!!!" So we are pretty excited these days about being engaged and are hoping to get married sometime in October!!!
When I was in Thailand in June, for a PAOC missionary retreat, I went to Bangkok for a few days and with the help of Cavelle Dove, got an unreal ring made in China town. Thank God Cavelle was there because I had no clue about diamonds and bands and all that stuff!! I got a crash course in rings and we ended up getting a sweet ring made!!!
I asked Avin's Dad two weeks ago if I could marry her and he gave me his blessing and some fatherly advice which I really appreciated.
So on Sunday morning I typed out a letter to Avin that expressed how I feel about her and what I am believing God for concerning our future together. It took me a bit longer then I thought so I was a little late for Church, which really had her wondering what was going on!!! So after meeting her at Church, I went and got Gas in my Dads truck, thanks Dad!!, and then picked her up at her place in White Rock. She had no clue where we were going!!! I just told her to wear clothes that were suited for physical activity and being outside!! It took us 2 hrs to get to Stanley Park from White Rock which is just horrendous!! The rush hour was unreal!! After finding a parking spot we walked to Lumbermans's Arch and while Avin was in the washroom I set up the picnic blanket and our picnic lunch. She came back and was pretty impressed by the whole set up!!! We prayed and had a great lunch together, including sparkling apple cider and some great sour dough sandwiches. After eating we played Bocce Ball for a while and then headed back to the truck so we wouldn't get towed.
We watched a street entertainer for a while at English Bay and then walked down to Denman street where we stopped at the Italian restaurant where our first date was. We weren't super hungry so we just had Pizza which was really good. Then we got some Gelato Ice cream and walked back to the truck. We drove back to the Park around 11pm and took out the picnic blanket and some candles and went down to the water. I put candles around the blanket in the sand and after talking for a while and looking at the stars I took out the letter I had written and gave it to her to read. She was in tears in minutes and then out of no where, 6 russian guys in their 20's show up. Most of them were smoking and they were all laughing and talking a good 50 feet from us!! I tried to ignore them and then shared some scripture with Avin from Psalms. When I realized they weren't going away any time soon, I was like. " We need to get out of here!!" So we blew out the candles, packed up the blanket and walked back to the truck, when one of the Russians spoke English for the first time and said something really rude. Avin fired back that he shouldn't talk like that and we just kept on walking!! I think I was in shock that he said what he said!!( You don't want to know!!!)
So we went to 3rd Beach and laid out the blanket and set up the Candles again. All of a sudden we see a flashlight and then a homeless guy starts looking for bottles right beside us, for like 5 minutes!! He left eventually and when I thought we were all alone, another homeless guy showed up looking for bottles. This guy was really thorough and was hanging around for like 15 minutes!!! It was unreal!! I just laughed!! Finally we were by ourselves and by this time it was almost 1am Monday morning. Finally I got the ring out of my pocket and asked Avin if she would marry me!!! After a real awkward embrace, JUST JOKING!!! JUST TRYING TO KEEP THIS BLOG ABOVE REPROACH!!!!! we waded into the ocean and I washed her feet cause I just wanted to symbolize that I wanted to serve her for the rest of our lives.
Then we packed up and I dropped her off in White Rock!!!
It was awesome!! Will keep you guys posted about the wedding details! Please be praying for us!!

Friends!! Here is a brief update and some pictures from Harley, showing and explaining what God is doing through the ministry in Cambodia.

Hello from Poipet, Cambodia

God is working in Cambodia, and He is continuing to build His kingdom. Poipet is one city where God is moving in a powerful way. Sometimes it is difficult to see His work. A tsunami wave cannot be seen when it is still moving through the deep ocean waters. It only becomes noticeable when it reaches the shoreline. It is the same with God's work here in Cambodia.
Our church members continue to grow in their faith and understanding of the gospel. Our visits to the surrounding villages continue to reach people who know nothing about Jesus so that they can hear the good news. We love to have meetings with the local youth to teach the bible, and just have fun too.
Please pray for the work being done in Poipet, and ask God to prepare the hearts of the Cambodian people to accept the gospel. We believe that Cambodia will be a powerful Christian nation in Asia. The tsunami is working its way to the Cambodian shoreline!

Friends!!
Here are some pictures from my last trip to Asia. I left on April 4th with 27 people, most of whom are doing an internship program at my home church, Christian Life Assembly in Langley, BC.
We first flew into Hong-Kong and then the team made a few trips into mainland China. The mission was successful!! Thank you Jesus!!!
The Thai team that I co-led with Avin worked with Imagine Thailand in Mae Sot, a town that runs a long the Burmese Border. We were originally going to help with a massive youth Camp in a refugee camp but our plans changed so we did a 4 day Camp at a Karen School. It was a great time that Dave and Loralee Hanson with Imagine Thailand helped organize.
We played lots of freeze tag, duck, duck goose, some pretty sweet kids songs with actions, crafts of all kinds, Bible lessons and even had a graduation type ceremony for the kids, followed by Ice Cream and in Thai tradition, joined in the 'Song Krahn'
(A nation wide water fight) spirit, and had a big water fight ourselves!
We visited a Church in Chonburi where Justin Reimer preached and after that rode Elephants in Pattaya and ate dinner by the Ocean,
After the CLA team left for Canada, Avin and myself visited my friends in Sriracha, where I lived for 5 years. Then we headed to Poipet to visit Harley and the rest of our Church family. It Was a brief but really good visit and its awesome to see how Jesus is continuing to change lives there and build His church.
After we spent time in Bangkok visiting Avins friends and fellow missionaries and got to ECB on Easter Morning.

Celebrate the Birth of Christ!!

This season, unlike everything that western culture has made it to be, is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! The whole story is so mind-boggling when you really think about it!! We have gotten so used to hearing the 'story' of the birth of Christ that I believe we have lost the 'Awe' factor!! How it all came to be that God, was born to a Virgin, in the middle of no-where, and God himself chose to let the most unlikely people know that it was occurring is just so cool! Hollywood would never have dared to write a script like the script that was written surrounding Jesus coming to earth! It would have seemed to far fetched!!
I realize more and more that I desperately need a saviour to save me from myself and my wicked inclinations and a God who also is able to love me and be gracious towards me like a good father who sees the best in his off-spring!
I want to wish all of you a blessed Christmas and my prayer is that you would fall more and more in love with Jesus Christ and may we all just surrender to His ways and live life abundantly!!

Change is a Coming!!

I think that is the famous line from an old folk song from the 60's or 70's!! If you have no idea what I am talking about, forgive me!!
I meant to tell all of you about this a month ago but just never got around to it. As you might have seen from an earlier posting, I have met a great woman of God!!! Avin Houghland and myself have been 'going out' ( if you can call it that when you're 30 plus!) for 2 and a half months and its been pretty amazing!
Due to that fact, my original plans of going to Perth, Australia to do a "School of Music in Missions" with YWAM has changed! It doesn't make a lot of sense anymore to fly around the world, when something I have been believing God for, for a long time, has happened here in Canada.
So this coming January I will be staying in Canada and will be finding a job of some kind. For those of you who have already donated funds for me to go to Australia, I trust that you understand the situation and would be praying for Avin and myself.

God is Good!!

We say 'God is Good!!' sometimes as Christians in such a casual way. Lately I have gotten the absolute, Holy Spirit given Revelation, that the God I serve, the God who calls me 'His son' , the God who loved me enough to die for me, really is GOOD!! Like He's REALLY GOOD!!! You are probably like, 'Dude, I get it already!' but man, when you get this revelation in your Spirit you just want to be the most radical, faith-filled Christian, who is willing to make sacrifices, and become a living sacrifice, so that the whole World will know that Jesus Christ is Lord!!!
I have been crying a lot lately, which is always a good sign that my heart is soft and my spirit is in tune with the Holy Spirit. I hear a worship song, and I will just feel the Love of the Lord all around me, I will share a story at a meeting and God just turns me into a wreck!!! Its humbling to lose it in front of strangers but I wouldn't change that intimate feeling with the Lord for anything in the World!!
Here are some pictures of a girl who the Lord has given me the honor of getting to know in the last 2 months. Her name is Avin Houghland from White Rock, BC. She served with Imagine Thailand (PAOC) in Thailand for 14 months and is currently back home working and serving with an emerging Church in Vancouver called 'More than 12.' Would really appreciate your prayers for us and for Wisdom and Discernment.

Cranbrook/Trail- CLA Interns 2010

Friends!! Here are just a few pictures from a recent ministry trip with 6 Interns from my home church, Christian Life Assembly in Langley BC. I actually went along with these awesome young people, not as their leader but as the 'drummer' and the guy who 'tried' key word is 'tried' to take care of the money!!! We drove to Trail BC (what a gorgeous part of BC!! Wow!!) where Justin Schwaab led worship and Steven Barks shared his testimony and the whole team did a real powerful drama to music.
That night we stayed with an awesome couple in Castlegar who were just awesome hosts, and the next morning we drove to Cranbrook. We stayed at Abundant Life church where Pastor Jonathan and Pastor Carol took care of us, along with members of their church. We were able to help out in a few practical ways as well as putting on a VBS for some local kids on Saturday afternoon and an hour or so on Sunday afternoon.
Schwaab led worship on Sunday morning and after having some great fellowship with the Pastors, former and Present, we hit the road the next morning back to the Fraser Valley.

Please Pray for Me!!

I just wanted all you guys who read this blog to be in prayer for me. For those of you who do pray for me, thanks a ton. God really does honor the prayers of a Righteous man! Your prayers are powerful and are a weapon against the plans of the enemy.
Last night I had a great talk with a spiritual father of mine. He confronted me about a few things, and though my face went red and it was difficult to take, I respect him a ton for having the godly courage to speak with me. I need to be a son in the faith cause I need to be accountable. I love it when people speak into my life and tell me where I need to shape up, especially when it’s done by those who love me and want what is best for me.
I want to go deeper in my relationship with Jesus Christ, I want to know God intimately and I desire Him to satisfy me in everyway. The Bible speaks about how we can walk in a Covenant relationship with the Lord, not just always relying on the mercy and grace of God.
We can walk in that marriage type relationship with our Lord and it’s there where we have authority, a greater anointing, intimacy, favor and blessing.
Whenever I step out to walk in this kind of relationship I feel like all hell breaks loose and I am tempted around every corner. The Word speaks about ‘ what I desire to do, I don’t do, and what I don’t want to do, I do.’ That seems to sum up my walk with God so often.
Please pray that God would empower me with His Spirit, and strengthen my faith by the Word, so that I can overcome the flesh, and all its desires, and walk in a Covenant relationship with the Lord. This is the cry of my heart, this is what I am desiring above all things. That Jesus would increase and I would decrease and God would be able to use me.
Please pray for me guys, I covet your prayers and can’t win this battle on my own.

Future Plans!!

Guys!! How is everyone doing? I pray you all had a great summer!!
I had an amazing summer seeing good friends and family members and was able to take some sweet road trips!
I just wanted to let you all know what my plans were for the fall and for the new year.
This fall I will be teaching a course for the 2nd year Interns at CLA and working part-time, as well as being around my church family and enjoying life in North America!! (So if you see me at every basketball game in the Fraser Valley don't be surprised!)
I have also decided to go to YWAM in Perth, Australia (Where my little sister Nadine has been for 10 years) and attend a School of Music in Missions (SOMM).
The main reasons why I am going there is number 1- to be in a strong Christian Community where I know I will be challenged and will grow in my faith, number 2- to improve as a musician and worship leader so I can teach about music and worship in a greater way back in Asia, and number 3- to gain a fresh perspective on God, life, ministry and what it means to follow Christ.
(Lecture Phase $3,900 Au/ $4-5,000Au Outreach Phase/ $550Au Australian Visa/ $2,000Au- Plane Ticket)

On another note, the ministry in Cambodia is carrying on and God is using Harley Voogd, Patrick Meir, Carin McCoy, Srai Sim and all our Cambodian staff members and volunteers to do great things.
A Safe House project is currently in the beginning stages and our Church planting ministry that includes an English School, a Music School, and 29 Home Churches with other evangelistic ministries are still continuing on.

Bella Coola Trip!!

Guys!! Just wanted to ask you all to pray for me and a bunch of guys that are heading to Bella Coola (Northern BC) this Thursday. (Ralph Peters of CLIMB Ministries has headed up this trip for the last four years with his brother Ron.)
We will be in Bella Coola for 2 nights where some guys will be playing music and I will have a chance to share the Gospel. On Sunday morning a few guys will be sharing the Word and myself and another guy will be leading worship.
We will also be constructing the form for a concrete pad in Redstone, on which a building will be built in the future.
I am believing God for 100 souls on this trip and break through in the lives of the first nations people that we meet.
Please pray for protection as we drive and that no matter what happens, Jesus Christ would be glorified and people would leave the Kingdom of darkness and enter the Kingdom of light!!
I should be back on the 14th and would still love to get together with many of you!

Alberta Trip!!

Family, how are you all doing? I just came back from a short trip to Alberta where the Lord just blessed my boots off!! I was in West Edmonton on August 15th where I had the honor of sharing at Victory Church on the Rock. Pastor Jonathan Krenz and his family were the ultimate hosts and it was a real blessing to get to know them as well as his Church family.
On the 16th I took a bus to Red Deer and then got picked up by Peter and met his wife Wanda later that night. We camped by the Red Deer river, rode their 3 horses for a couple days on some spectacular trails, ate some unreal food and just had great Christian fellowship.
Living like a cowboy for a couple days was a dream come true, so here are a few shots from that experience.
I pray that all who read this would fall in love with Jesus more and more!!

Anybody weary?!!!

If somebody were to ask me that I would raise both hands in the air and say "YES!!" As Christians who are living lives of faith and constantly going against the grain of this world, becoming weary is just a fact of life.
The Lord Jesus says, " Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest." What a promise!! What an awesome word from the Lord that gives us hope for the future!! When we come to the Lord in humility, with surrendered wills, and just begin to spend time with our Creator, He will give us rest!! Peace of mind is restored, heaviness is restored with Joy, bitterness is replaced by forgiveness and we can just 'LIVE' like we were meant too!
If you haven't come to the Lord lately in an intentional way, I really encourage you to take time out of your busy day to do that!

Well I am back in Canada and it feels great to be home! I feel like I can just relax these days and it's just a great feeling! We are so crazy busy sometimes in Cambodia its a little overwhelming.
I am trying to rest these days but am still making time to get together with family and friends. I had the privilege of going sailing for a few days around Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island with the Browns, had a blast with 2 of my nephews in Abby before taking them home to my sister in Salmon Arm, and was able to attend Lacey's wedding which had me in tears the whole time! Hey I am a crier, what can I say?!! Its a blessing and curse!!

'Return Unto Me'

I don't know about you, but when I start thinking about home, and my family, I get emotional.
I have lived the last 10 years of my life far away from my immediate family and the place where I was born and raised.
If you listen to a lot of secular songs, even these folks that don't know the Lord sing about going home and you can tell it's emotional for them. I think that is why the Prodigal Son story is really powerful for so many people. When that 'Prodigal Son' decided to go home, it was a big deal. It wasn't just the physical fact that he was going home but it symbolized a RETURN to what he knew to be good and true. It meant he would have to humble himself in the sight of his father, his family and all that knew him. People at home know you. They know where you come from, and what you have been through. It's humbling to go home but it's a good thing.
On July 2nd I am flying home after being gone for 1 year. I will be in Canada for a few months and then am hoping to go to a Worship/Music School somewhere in the states this next year.
Missionaries and my Cambodian Staff will lead the ministry while I am gone and I am believing the Lord will continue to provide for them while I am gone.

I was in Southern India for 10 days with my good friend, Kris Pagan, working with Joseph, an Indian student who is attending my former Bible school, VBCI in Thailand. We spent 3 days with Josephs family in a little village outside of Gatakurem, and then spent the next 7 days traveling by car, train, rick-shaw, motorbike- you name it!!, all over southern India. We preached at 4 different meetings, prayed for a lot of people, shook a thousand hands, visited a 60 year old Prison, saw two famous Hindu Temples and saw some pretty amazing cities and sights! It was a whirl-wind tour! We had some serious close-calls as we travelled but all in all it was a great time! Kris is currently editing and producing the footage that we shot while we travelled. Yes, I know. Some of you are like. " Those poor cows!!" And yeah no doubt, they were not comfortable AT ALL!! But they LIVED, praise God!!! So after that glimpse of how compassionate I am towards 4 legged creatures!!! , the reason for putting them in that position was because I had to move my 2 Cows, 'Larry Bird' and 'Pete Maravich' (Yeah they are girls, and Mother and Daughter but whatever!!) to poipet cause some ancient buddhist Priest couldn't take care of them anymore! Here are pictures of a few youth members and some pictures of our Worship team and church on a Sunday morning.
Currently we have about 15 youth attending our youth group every Saturday night at 6:30pm.
Candy and Rachelle have been heading up that ministry for the past few months and have been doing an awesome job.
A few months ago our youth went to Pursat for 3 days and just had a great time of drawing closer to the Lord. The truck broke down on the way there and there were a few other 'exciting' moments but many of the young people came back excited about the Lord, which was the purpose!
Our worship team for years has consisted of just myself playing the guitar for Srai Sim but after teaching Dree the drums for over 3 years we have a pretty sweet little 18 year old drummer now! Sopayuk plays the guitar when he can and sometimes Dree will play the bass and I'll play the drums. Srai Sim leads worship on most Sundays and is just one passionate worship leader!! Pau helps to sing and so does Makara and Srai Roit. Maroit is a pastors daughter and we are getting her to lead worship on Sundays sometimes. We have a long ways to go musically for sure but God knows we are trying!!

Baptism @ Gaw Bram Village!!

By the Grace of God we were able to Baptise 60 people, on October 25, '09, who had confessed that Jesus Christ was Lord of their lives and they had repented of their sins. 3 of these people are volunteering at our church everyday of the week and have been such a blessing. Hi-Anne is a 52 year old man who is married with 4 kids. Rachelle Schellenberg found him at the Casino area one night drunk and now he attends church, and every meeting that we host faithfully!
Srai Roit is 18 years old and is Pastor Boosapauls sister in Law. She used to be very hard hearted and against this God that Boosapaul always spoke about but now she helps cook at the church everyday and helps teach Khmai at some of our home- churches.
Date is also 18 years old and is Srai Sims nephew. He is quite small for his age and was probably picked on quite a bit as a teenager. Now he helps clean the building every morning and even before devotions begin at 9am he reads his Bible by himself for around 30 minutes.
God is so Good!

Cambodia Life 2 -Cool Season!!

Joom Reeip Sooah!! (I mean when in doubt, just use the classic missionary 'Cliche' and say hello in the native Language, using English phonetics!! Talk about OVERDONE!!) Forgive me supporters and friends out there, but you know it's true!!
Anyways here are some shots of real life in Cambodia! In this country, the most picturesque parts, for me personally, are out in the country side during the rainy season. At this time of the year everything is really lush and green and the rice farms just look amazing! For me, nothing beats driving my truck or motorbike out to a home church in the middle of some rural area, and having a Khmai meal in a bamboo hut and then spending the night there! It's awesome and the only way to experience Cambodia!!

August-Sept.-Poipet!!

Well it's been a while since I last wrote and a lot has happened in the past month and a half!

- We have seen 24 people saved since coming back to Cambodia, thank you Jesus!
- Josh Peters served with us for a month and was a real blessing
- A team went to Morrisay and had a special Youth meeting and visited some house churches
- 4 new house churches have been added to our ministry in Morrisay
- A Vietnamese Barber is now living in our church building
-Patrick from Saskatchewan is going to work with us for a month
- On September 9th our Youth went to Pursat for a Youth retreat and came back pumped
- On September 15th we had a Women's Seminar led by Rachelle and Srai Sim.
- I spoke at the Full Gospel Church in Chang Rai and also at the Mae Fah Luang University in Chang Rai
- Had a nasty Flu for 5 days but now feel great!!

And the real big news is that, our church now has a Government License to legally hold worship meetings!! Praise you Lord!! We have been trying to get this for a long time and finally have got it!! It's a huge answer to prayer!

We are still believing God for 180,000 US Dollars for a 10 Acre piece of land to build a childrens home, a Bible school, a place to play sports and in general, to make disciples!! We need 20,000US Dollars down and then we can take ownership of the land. If you feel led to give to this project, let me know.

As I write this I am waiting with Boosapaul in the Taipei airport, about to catch our last flight to Bangkok before we take a bus to Poipet, Cambodia.
We arrived in Canada on June 26th and right up until yesterday, August 4th, we had an amazing time doing every 'Canadian' type thing we could!!
Boosapaul adapted to life in Canada amazingly well and did everything from riding a horse in Alberta, to ordering a double-double at Tim Hortons!! He survived without eating rice everyday and now I think he genuinely enjoys Cheerios with milk!!
We were able to share about Cambodia and the ministry at places like the Union Gospel Mission in Vancouver to backyard BBQ's in Three Hills, Alberta and Kelowna, BC!
At every place we shared we met awesome people who have a heart for the lost! We were so encouraged and blessed by people's encouraging words and by their financial support! God is so good and I give Him praise for every good thing that happened this summer!!
It was a whirlwind trip but be had a ton of fun and after being at the Victory Conference in Alberta we are stirred up and excited to keep going all out for Jesus in Cambodia!

The 'Boos' in Canada (and abroad!)

Well I promised many of you that I would show you pictures of Boosapual in Canada, so here are a few!!
They guy is adapting to life in a 'modern' country extremely well!! I am slightly blown away by how well he is doing, honestly!! I thought he would be a lot like a dear caught in the headlights of an oncoming vehicle but he's doing great!
Today he had Tim Hortons for the first time and tonight we will take him to watch the Canada Day fireworks!! Should be fun!
For those of you who are interested, I am sharing at Transform Central in Abbotsford Saturday night (July 11th), and will be sharing at Living Waters in Fort Langley Sunday morning (July 12th).
On July 14th we are flying to Alberta to attend the Victory World Conference in Lethbridge. The Conference is happening from the 15th to the 19th and by the grace of God we are representing Victory Church's of Cambodia.
On the 19th I will be speaking at the Victory Church in Fort Macleod and then on the 21st will be sharing at the Victory Church in Three Hills.
Please be praying for God to use me to encourage the body of Christ at these different meetings! I really believe that God wants to use us to encourage people to do whatever they can to bring in the end time harvest and get involved in missions.

Hey friends!! Just wanted to let you all know that Boosapaul got his Canadian Visa, thank you Jesus!, so we will both be arriving in Vancouver on June, 26th! Boos is just pumped!! After getting his Visa and experiencing Bangkok last week for the first time, his faith is at an all-time high!!
We are excited to see everyone and to share about what the Lord is doing in Cambodia!

God is so Good!! His Mercy endures Forever!!!
I have been on a whirlwind ride for quite a while now but for sure the last few months have been off the charts busy!! They have also been very fruitful months which I praise God for!

March 4th I headed out to Nepal with Kris Pagan and Aua Treeaynon to have a meeting with 50 Pastors in Eastern Nepal. We first arrived in Kathmandu, met our good Nepalese friend Prem, and then stayed at a Christian guest house that night, before heading out the next morning by Jeep. We drove for 4hrs over a mountain range on a hard-core road and after seeing some amazing sights we arrived in Hetuada.
The next day we had a meeting with all these 'independant' pastors and shared our vision with them about Church planting and serving God, not for what we can gain but for what we can give!
After 3hrs we let these leaders ask us questions and most of them brought up money and support!! It's like they hadn't been listening at all.
The next morning I preached in one Pastors church and had a great time ministering to his church members. Then we packed up our stuff and took the Jeep back over the mountain range to Kathmandu.
We spent a day buying souvenirs and getting some Video footage for Continuum. We also visited some Hindu temples that were totally demonic with all these Hindu 'Holy' men called 'Jogis'.

On March 9th I came back to Bangkok, met my good friend Paul Degagne on Khao San Road and hung out with him and Sonny of Ethnos Asia for a day. Was such a blessing to be around Wise men who love the Lord.

Then I took Paul to Poipet and met Ellie and Joanna who work with a ministry called A.R.C. I showed Paul and these girls around town and introduced them to different ministries as well as our Church. After Church on Sunday I drove to Phnom Phen to meet my parents, oldest sister Kim and the MEI Team!!
Toby Friesen and Doug Wiens came with me and then on March 16th we met the Team at the Airport!! It was quite the reunion for the Reimers!! Was an answer to prayer to have them on cambodian soil to serve the Lord!

So that day we went to the 'S-21' prison which was quite the eye opener.
After that sobering experience we went to the Russian Market and did some shopping and that evening went out for Pizza!!! (I tried to them ease them in slowly!)
The next day we did a school Assembly at Dean Weiss's school, Logos International. My sister Kim and I led worship which was a thrill for me cause she has such a great voice and sweet spirit!! The MEI team did a powerful drama to music and then after some testimonies my Dad shared a salvation message and around 16 teenagers gave their lives to Jesus! It was awesome!
That same morning we went to a Cambodian school and shared the Gospel with these primary school kids and got to pray for them.
That afternoon we visited Pastor Ros's school that reaches out to the Kids of Garbage dump people. The team painted Faces, blew bubbles, taught songs ect. and after we went to the actual garbage dump which was something to behold. It smelled so bad and hundreds of people were milling around looking for garbage that could be recycled.

The next day we all went to Siem Reap and had dinner at a cultural show that was pretty impressive and did some shopping. The MEI team got a good taste of Cambodian culture that night!

The next day the girls did some prep work and us guys helped clean up a job-site and visited a well known Christian authors place.

That afternoon we toured around Angkor Wat and took lots of pictures in the extreme heat of Cambodia!

The next day we headed to Poipet on the much improved highway and right away got settled in and then headed out to some house churches.
For the next week the MEI team visited all our house churches, shared testimonies, did dramas, taught Bible stories, did crafts and games with Kids, passed out water to cart pullers and blessed our church big time!

We saw 85 people born again and baptized 35 people while they were in Cambodia!! Praise God!! Ministering with my parents and sister for 2 weeks was a totall thrill as well!!

I am now in Thailand teaching at VBCI in Sriracha for 2 weeks on Leadership. Please be praying for me as I teach these future world changers!!

Just wanted to show you guys a few pictures of our recent Victory Conference
(Jan.15th-17th) where 300 Khmer people attended for 2 and a half days.
6 missionaries from Thailand came to preach at the Conference and all of them brought very timely words, all focusing on what a true disciple of Christ is like.
My two new Interns, Toby Friesen and Doug Wiens, did a phenomenal job of taking care of 70 kids every day, and my Khmer Pastors and helpers were truly amazing at ministering to every persons needs and in helping prepare everything.

Some other pictures are from a recent trip to a Khmer Rouge village where we had an evening meeting and where I was able to preach the Gospel to these 'back woods' people.
Besides drinking Coffee until late at night and looking at the stars (and almost freezing to death at night!!) it was a great time of ministry and just being in a new environment.

Here are some pictures of our Christmas Party/ Outreach that we had on December 25th, (of ALL days I know!) 2008.
It was a great time of worship, dancing, dramas, preaching and of course, food!
We had a great turnout with 350 people attending and I believe many of our home church members and those who were invited were really encouraged and blessed.

Friends and Family members!! How is everyone doing? I have been "Off the Radar" for a while but it seriously hasn't been on purpose! Sorry if that was a problem for any of you.
Sometimes the ministry gets pretty intense and I just dont have the time to check my email account! My bad, please have mercy on a brother!
The CLA team was just in town for 2 weeks and they were a tremendous blessing! Lacey Holcombe and Keela Keeping made up the team and they did everything from putting on a Womens Conference, to teaching English, preaching, teaching Sunday School, fixing my computer, making me laugh ect.!!
For the first week that they were in Poipet it was full on ministry on a daily business and despite the girls sufferring from jet-lag, they handled their new settings very well.
They visited many of our homegroups with me and my ministry team and ministered to our homegroup members in many ways, praise God!
They also went with me to 'Morrisay' where we have 13 homechurches. We had a meeting with many of the youth from those homegroups and I taught from 2 Timothy and encouraged them to preach the Word and make a difference for the Lord.
At Morrisay these girls had a true cross-cultural experience living in a traditional Khmer house, and eating genuine Khmer food while sitting cross legged on a wooden floor with 20 other people! It was great!

The 2nd week of their trip I took them to Siem Reap and Phnom Phen where they learned about the history and culture of Cambodia (and at the same time did quite a bit of shopping!) Donna Haas from my Bible School in Thailand also accompanied us on our trip across the country and she was an awesome blessing to me and the girls.

2 Weeks ago we saw over 20 people recieve the Lord in 'Gaw Brahm' and 2 young boys in particular were especially attentive and hungry for the truth while we preached the Gospel.

Also our Victory Church Vball team won a Christian Tournament in Siem Reap a month ago, we were pumped! We went down there with our players and another Church team in our truck! 23 people in total travelled 3 hours down the worst road in Cambodia! It was an adventure forsure! Many of the young men on our team were not even Christians but there was a meeting where the Gospel was shared during the tournament and we are believing for their Salvation.

A Philipino Team also came to visit us for 2 days recently and they shared in our church Service and visited the Aids Clinic.
A group of missionaries from Thailand also came recently for a Visa Run/Ministry trip and the also shared in our church and were a real blessing.

I am off to Malaysia on the 14th for Youth Conference so please be praying for me as I share with the Youth in Penang for a week. They are Chinese Youth and there should be over 200 of them at this conf. Pray for a powerful annointing to preach the truth and to see the broken hearted binded up and for these youth to go deeper wtih God!

War in the East!

Guys! How is everyone doing?

I was going to wait a few more weeks before writing an update, but since things have gotten ‘interesting’ around here, I thought I would let you all know what is happening!!

Some of you might have heard about the recent tension between Thailand and Cambodia concerning an ancient temple and some land that is about 200 Kilometres north-east of Poipet.

Technically the land has belonged to Cambodia since 1962 but after it was named a ‘Historical Landmark ‘ by some world agency, Thailand has gotten interested and wants to claim the temple and land as its own.

Of course there has been internal conflict and underlying tension between the two countries for years so this recent upheaval is not entirely about this temple and the surrounding land.

Many Khmer people in Poipet have already fled to their hometowns for fear of the fighting spilling over here.

I have decided to continue on as normal and will preach the Gospel no matter what.
Joshua 1:9 commands us not to be afraid because the Lord God is with us, so I will trust in the Lord and am believing for a great harvest because of all the uncertainty.

I encourage you to please be praying for peace between these two countries and that this problem will be resolved quickly.

Besides the threat of War things here are going great.

Our English classes are growing and many of our students have been coming to Church lately.

Our little music school on Fridays has 6 new students and though last week I was teaching 8 students the drums and the guitar at practically the same time, I was pumped all these young guys were there and I could connect with them.

Two weeks ago we had 70 plus people attend our Church service in Poipet!
Our church on Sunday probably averages 35 people so myself and my leaders were totally encouraged!

Many of the people that came were Aids patients, street kids, beggars and young college aged people.

Teams from Abbotsford, the Philippines and CLA in Canada will be arriving in the next few weeks so we are excited to host these teams and help them play their role in the Great Commission in Cambodia.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

How are you all doing? How was everyones summer?
I pray you are all blessed and prospering!
I just arrived back in Asia on Sunday after being in Canada for over two months this summer.
I had an amazing summer catching up with many of you and spent some quality time with my family.
It was a time of getting refreshed and for taking a breather from the full-on ministry in Cambodia.
Compared to 3 months ago, when I had Typhoid Fever and was honestly struggling, I am feeling great and am ready to preach the Gospel and makes disciples in Cambodia once again!! Praise God!

This fall is going to be busy as myself, Andrew and Katrina Stock and my Khmer leaders take on the challenge of overseeing an additional 30 home churches in an area 3hrs away from Poipet.

Besides our regular outreach to the local Aids Clinic, our English School, the street kids outreach, the music school and our different Church ministries, a team from Christian Life Assembly in Langley, B.C will be coming in November. I am very excited about this as it is always an honor to host a team from my home church and to get westerners plugged into the great commission in Asia!!

Also this summer 10 young men contacted me about wanting to serve the Lord in Cambodia, in the next 10 months.
Please be praying for these guys as they prepare to leave behind everything they know and lay down their lives in a difficult setting. I beleive God wants to radically change these guys and use them to do great things for the Lord.

I am leaving Thailand for Cambodia tomorrow so please be praying that the Lord gives me strength, wisdom, an increased annointing and a healthy fear of the Lord for this new season!!
I am really believing for a massive harvest of souls this next year and that we are going to start seeing more of Gods power as we minister!

God is so good and He has blessed me with great friends!
Last week two friends of mine from CLA took me boating on the Fraser River!! The scenery was amazing!! We cruised past all these saw-mills and tug-boats, stopped for lunch, and then wakeboarded in the Pitt River area! Besides the water being totally fridged I had a blast wakeboarding, knee-boarding and just hanging out with JM and Jane!
I have 2 more weeks in Canada before heading back to Cambodia so I am trying to chill, meet with friends and get a few things organized.
Please be praying that God would give me new vision and a greater annointing as I prepare to go back to Asia!

This is a picture of my Grandma Reimer at Earl's Restaurant in Abbotsford just a few weeks ago. She is 86 years old and still doing incredibly well!! She is still amazingly active - she volunteers at the MCC restaurant, faithfully attends church and prayer meetings and every summer makes lunch and prepares cold drinks for whoever might be working on the farm.
I love my Grandma. She has been a tremendous blessing in my life and I really praise God for her!

Home Sweet Home!!

It was an emotional reunion when I saw my parents at the Airport. I won't lie, I cried like a little boy!!
After being away from home for 2yrs and having been through a lot of difficult things, seeing my Mom and Dad was just a great feeling.
I don't think it really matters how old we get, or what we accomplish in our lifetimes, our parents will always be our parents, and we will always be their kids!! In many ways it's a very comforting and cool thing about life!
Anyways enough sentimental stuff! I am home now and though not feeling 100 percent after the whole Typhoid thing, I'm feeling good and it's just a blessing to be home!
I saw my new nephew the night I got home and that was a treat! Tai looks a lot like my older sister Danica and the kid is just adorable! I have seen him twice now and have rarely heard him cry, my kind of nephew!!

New Truck!

Here are some pictures of the truck that I just purchased last week!! It's a 1997 Toyota Tacoma, standard, 4x4. I think it's sweet, praise God!!!
I would just like to thank CLA for their major contribution that went towards buying this truck and also Pete and Marianne Reimer for their amazing generousity.
I already received a report from my friend Matt Brown who just used the truck to rush a girl to the Hospital after she had broken her arm at one of our home churches. We will use every resource that we are blessed with to help the Khmer people come to know Jesus Christ! Amen!

I'm coming home!

After 2 years of serving the Lord in Cambodia I am coming home for a short break!!!
On June 22nd I fly out of Bangkok and amazingly enough, thanks to the time change, I arrive in Vancouver BC the same day.
I am excited to see many of you and get caught up with all that has happened over the past 2 years!
I will be home all summer and then will be coming back to Cambodia at the end of August.

Some other big news that I want to share with you is that I just bought a TRUCK for the Ministry!!
I made 3 trips to Phnom Phen in the last few weeks to check out trucks and on this last trip, just two days ago, finally was able to purchase a 1997 Toyota Tacoma, 4x4. It's sweet and I got it for a pretty good deal, praise God! So that is a real blessing and it will be a big help to the ministry.

I also just recently got over a bout with Typhoid Fever that has left me pretty thin. I picked up someting in Phnom Phen a week and a half ago and right away felt awful. My fever was around 104 for a week and I had some nasty headaches and muscle pains. After 4 days I got to the Drs. and he put me on an IV drip for 3 days straight and gave me some medicine.
I sweated it out in this little clinic but after being on the IV drip I felt a lot better and now am pretty much back to normal!

We also just had a Womens Conf. at our church that saw 30 women come the first day and 40 women the second day. Many of them stayed at our church overnight and had a great time of fellowship and growing in their faith together.

God is so good and yeah can't wait to see many of you real soon!

Friends and Family members who read this blog!! Pray you guys are doing well!

Just wanted to write a brief report about my recent trip to Malaysia.
On April 21st myself, along with Kris and Tabitha Pagan, set off for Malaysia to encourage the Victory Praise Church in Kuala Lumpur and hang out with a cool couple, Tony and Margaret Foster in Penang.
We arrived safely in Penang and then took a taxi to the Fosters Condo. Right away I was impressed with Malaysia (this was my first time there!) by how modern it was and how developed and organized things were. ( of course it doesnt take much to impress a missionary from Cambodia!)
We hung with the Fosters for a few days, checked out the sights, saw a few malls, snake farms!! ect, and then took the bus to KL. KL is unreal! The place has huge highrises everywhere, mono-rail and subway systems, starbucks on every corner and malls the size of small towns!!
We checked out the twin towers which was super cool, went to China town, little India and of course ate great food along the way.( The Indian food there was out of this world!)

The Victory Praise Church in KL is headed up by Pastor Ezekiel and he was a great host.
I preached at the first service on Friday night and then again at the last service on Sunday night. Kris and Tab preached as well and had awesome messages for the youth and the women of the church.

Kris also preached at a Burmese refugee church and man could those guys play country tunes for the Lord!

In every place we would pray for the sick and prophecy over people, it was a lot of fun!

In case some of you were wondering, (thanks Mom and Grandma!) yeah I am still alive and well in Cambodia!!! I haven't written in months so I am so sorry about that!
Pray all of you are well and blessed! I will keep this baby short and to the point so you wont get half way through it and hit the old delete!! ( God knows we've all done it!!)

Hi-lites from the last few months-

1) Christmas Party (December) - 250 people attended, amazing re-inactment of the Christmas story by the kids, good food (Praise God!), 25 young people got saved!

2) Encounter Conference -Poipet (January) - Was a 3 day Victory Church Conference hosted by our Poipet church, a total of 450 people attended, 8 missionaries from Thailand came to help out and preach, was a huge encouragement to our church and the body of Christ in Poipet! ( Richard Krahn came to visit as well and was a huge blessing!)

3) Taught on the Pastoral Epistles at VBCI in Thailand for 2 weeks.(February) Think I learned more than the students and had a blast relating the topic to what God is doing in Cambodia. Low-lite- Marking!! (Sorry Pastor Kenn!)

4) Attended the EFC Annual Conference in Phnom Phen and recieved our Membership Certificate!! ( Feb-March) Was a great conf.. My assistant pastors caught new vision and great connections were made with other Christian leaders in the nation.

5) Moved into a new Building!! (March) Actually moved into 2 new buildings but am currently just in one! Long Story!) 4 storey building, 7 bedrooms, 4 large meeting areas, Kitchen, 3 balconies, un-countable washrooms!!! 50 Metres from the Thai/ Khmer Border on the main road!! Thank you Lord!!

6) MEI team led by Z and Booy came to Poipt for 2 weeks!! (March) Was a dream come true to host a team from my old Highschool! Ministered to our 6 homechurches, Aids Clinic, played vball and soccer with local guys, picked up garbage!, visited Siem Reap ect! Saw 13 people saved and baptised 30 people ( including 4 MEI Students!)

I'm looking forward to the arrival of Andrew and Katrina Stock who will be interning with me for 8 months. They are doing their internship through CBC in Abbotsford and I am so excited to see what God is going to do through them. Is an answer to prayer to have them come!!

I'll hit fast forward and just say I am coming home this summer after a 2 year absence and am pumped about seeing all of you!!

Were Official!

Victory Churches of Cambodia is now registered with the Evangelical Fellowship of Cambodia! They are a middle man between Christian Organizations and the Government in this nation! This is huge for us as Victory Churches and means we dont have to hide our existence anymore but can put some signs out and make some noise for Jesus! God is so Good!
We have also just found an ideal place to house our Ministry on the Main road of Poipet! Hopefully we shall be moving in within the next few weeks!

Our Christmas party was a huge success as 250 attended and 30 people got born-again! Thank you Lord!

November Action!

It's never boring in the dirty, dusty border town of Poipet! A team from my home church, Christian Life Assembly in Langley BC, arrived in Poipet, Nov. 18th, and for 7 straight days spent most of their time preaching the good news!
The team of 8, led by Tim and Raven Lindberg, went to all 6 of our homechurch villages, and did mini-crusades, dramas, crafts, prayed for the sick and saw people come to the Lord! It was awesome!
Overall we saw 40 people makes decisions to follow Jesus, 60 people baptised and all the members of our Church built up in their faith and encouraged!!
Travis Martens shared at our mid-week Bible study and then demonstrated Christ-likeness by washing the feet of all the Khmer believers with help from the rest of the team. It was a powerful display of humility and obedience to the Word of God.
After a full-week of preaching the good news, praying for the sick and having a one day Conf. with a baptism, we went to Siem Reap and took in the sites of Angkor Wat. We also went to Gah Larn in Pattaya, Thailand before the team headed home to Canada.
The team truly blessed the socks off our Church and impacted hundreds of lives for the Glory of God!
Bless all of you as you continue to follow the example and words of our Lord.

Its been a while since I last wrote on my Blog! I pray all who read this baby are doing well! A team from CLA is coming to Poipet,Cambodia tomorrow for 2 weeks. We will be doing everything from visiting our 6 homegroups, doing evangelism in the slums and doing outreach on the streets. We also have some tourist things, like going to Angkor Wat, planned so it should be a great time! Please be praying for a great harvest of souls and for the sick to be healed and the Church to be built up in faith!
Please as well be praying for me. I need some serious healing in my body. Please pray in faith and in the name of Jesus that I would recover from this and continure to serve the Lord in strength and boldness!

Poipet Sunsets!!

Just want to give a shout out to all who read this blog( That means Mom and Grandma!) Just finished a great Bible study at my place this afternoon! Taught about how it is Gods will that we are healed through the Blood of Jesus!! So many of these Cambodian peeople suffer from sickness and disease and that is not Gods will for them! They are bought by the blood of Jesus and have been redeemed from the curse of sin and death!! I believe they recieved the revelation today that God wants them to be whole and well in Jesus name!! I was just pumped cause I have talked about this subject often but have not taught it so directly as I did today.
Our Homegroups are growing here in Poipet and we now have 6 all around the City! These people are hungry for truth so it is an honor to teach them the Word of life!
We continue to visit the Aids Clinic whenever we can to pray for the sick and lead people to the Lord. We often just give out fruit and hang out with the patients there for a while.
As well I am continuing to teach English for an hour a day and there are 2 other english classes happening at my house in the evening. All of these students are being prayed with and are being exposed to the truth of the Gospel!
Gods faithfullness and blessings continue to amaze me and I just cant help but praise God for his Goodness!

"Love Lanka!!"

Thats right, 'Love Lanka!" That is the name of a ministry I am off to help out in Sri Lanka next week!!
The opportunity to go and minister came up just a few weeks ago and I thought it was a great chance to go and preach the word!
Myself, Dr. Al Purvis, and Kim Boschman will be going for roughly a week to a place outside of Colombo for a 5 day Conference.
Please be praying for all of us as we preach, lay hands on the sick and pray for Gods Holy Spirit to dramatically change people's lives!
I am really excited as I have never been to Sri Lanka before and can't wait to check it out!

Things back in Poipet have been awesome! Last Saturday we baptized 28 people in a pond close to my house! We had just finished the baptism when there was a torrential rain storm! Never a dull moment!

Also the Chief of a village 30 minutes from Poipet approached a man from our church and told him that he and 10 other families wanted to be Christians! We were blown away! This has happened 3 times now where people have come to us wanting to know Jesus! Praise God! So we are going to start going to this village every week to teach and disciple these people!
We now have 6 home groups all over and around Poipet! Its all Jesus!

Last week I also hand-picked 5 young men that I will start discipling and training on a daily basis. They are the future of our Poipet Church and all have great potential so its very cool.

So yeah, please be praying for us as we go to Sri Lanka and minister!

The Latest from the East!

Hey Everybody! How are you all doing? Just wanted to share with y'all a little bit about what God is doing in Cambodia!
Just came back from the big Hope: Cambodia Conference! Took ten people from our church in Poipet and had a great time! Joyce Meyer, Darlene Zchech and Delirious? were there along with some other well known American Pastors.
The Conf. was supposed to be held at the Olympic Stadium but was moved to a Theatre Building and a big Church.
The first two days were awesome! Great Preaching, Worship the works! Then on the Friday night we were supposed to all meet at the Theatre. Thousands of us arrived there only to find out that we were locked out of the building!
The Cambodian Gov. had locked everything down despite the Conf. having all the right documents! Unreal!
So when Joyce Meyer arrived she preached and encouraged the crowd through a mega-phone! Martin Smith and Darlene also sang a few songs through the mega-phone with Stu G playing the acoustic Guitar, so cool! We were in the black of the night and causing quite a traffic jam on the main road but people were just praising God and praying! It was like a peacful protest in the '70's!! Great Vibe!
So the next day we had meetings in the morning with Joyce Meyer and were scheduled to meet at the Stadium that night but guess what happened? Same thing! The authorities shut down the meeting, even after the stage and everything had been prepared!
So please be praying for Cambodia. The church is hungry for more of God, the masses are hungry for the truth but the Government is causing a major hindrance to the spread of the Gospel!

Just had church at my house 2 Sundays ago with 80 plus people! Took communion together, ate together and yeah just had a great time! Once every month we gather our 5 homegroups at my place for a joint worship service to encourage everyone and worship together! So far its been awesome!

Also I just got a gig singing at a big Thai-outside restaurant in Poipet! Play the late night spot but hey its a gig! I sing a few cheesy love songs to warm up the Thai-Gamblers and then hit 'em with some worship songs and finish off with rock'n roll! Its fun and keeps me out of trouble!

So yeah pray you are all doing well! And if you ever want to come to Poipet, you are more then welcome!

2 months of Action!

Well I am not sure where to begin, so I will start with thanking God!!! He is so Good!

In the last two months a lot has been happening in Poipet!

We have seen over 55 people come to the Lord, Baptized 30 people, 10 people in the HIV Clinic got saved, had our first joint service and 120 people came out, are starting a new English/Bible class next week, have a YWAM team coming July 20th, and are preparing for a massive Conf. in Phnom Phen Aug. 9th-11th!!

One of the key events that happened this last month was a leadership meeting involving all the leaders in our church.
We discussed everything from- what we are doing with our church money, what a Christian leader is like, where we are going as a church, what our purpose is, ect.
The meeting went extremely well and I believe the leaders in our church are catching the Vision!
Another huge event for us was a joint service at my place involving all of our homegroups! We had not done this since our Victory Cambodia Conf. in Oct. so it was pretty exciting! We had some amazing Khmer food after the service and really had the family vibe happening, praise God!

One encredible event just happened this past week. We heard through one member in our church that 6 families in a remote village wanted to know the Lord. So that day we went to visit them and then two days later went back to share the Gospel with them! 20 people came to the Lord and we are going to start a new homegroup there!

Oh yeah almost forgot! The biggest blessing was having the opportunity in early June to go and visit my sister Nadine in Hanoi, Vietnam! She was there with her IPHC YWAM team for 3 weeks after having been in Papua for quite some time. I had not seen her in 2 years, so we did a lot of catching up and hanging out, it was great! I tagged a long for a few of her teams ministry times and then we went to Ha Long Bay for 2 days and cruised around on this amazing Guesthouse/boat thing!
We sang Karaoke, ate great food, and jumped off the roof of the boat! Good times Vietnam!
So thanks again for your prayers and support!
Momentum is really building in Poipet so we're pressing in and going for it!

Financial Matters!!

Somethings that I rarely talk about in my emails/blogs ect., are things like; - personal issues, struggles, and.... money!!!
Today I choose to give you a brief update on the later!

On average I recieve 1,350 CDN dollars a month for the ministry and personal expenses in Poipet.
All of my money goes through 'A and D World Missions' and all donors recieve a tax deductible receipt.

My expenses include - tithe, food, lodging, travel, accomodating teams/guests, motorbike repairs/gas, church expenses, paying workers, Thai Visa's, personal items ect.

In the next few weeks we are hoping to purchase some land on the outskirts of Poipet for a church. A 20metre by 8metre piece of land is around 1,500 US dollars. We are hoping to buy a few sections to accomodate a church of at least 100 plus people.

We are also looking at renting a building on the main road of Poipet for a church as well. The cost of renting a building on the main road is around 300 US dollars a month.

Next week when I return to Poipet we are going to purchase a 'Gong by' which is a Cambodian version of a taxi. Its an old-school motorbike hooked up to a sidecart that has little benches to sit on and usually a sketchy roof.
We will be using this to transport beleivers to and from meetings, and to provide a job for a church member.
A 'Gong by' costs 1500 US dollars.

Boosapaul, a 55 year old Khmer man with a wife and 3 children, works with me full time. He translates for me on a daily basis, preaches in church, visits the Aids patients with me and runs things when I am away. Pretty much whatever I am doing in Poipet, Boosapaul is usually right beside smiling and loving those who we minister to! He is a gem and I really can't imagine serving in Poipet without him. He has became one of my best friends.
I pay Boosapaul a monthly salary of 120 CDN dollars ( A fair wage in Cambodia. My first year in Cambodia I never paid him and he was as faithful then as he is now!)

Other major expenses are going on ministry trips( Ex. Nepal, Phillipines ect.) These trips are usually quite costly as we often have to fly and pay for lodging and food once we arrive.

I tell you all of this so that you as supporters, know where your money is going, and what the major expenses are in the ministry.

The Classic Missionary move, saying "Hello" in the native tongue!!! Good times!!

I pray you are all doing well! How is life on the homefront? For real, I love to hear from you guys so please don't be afraid to let me know how you are!!!
Well it's been an interesting last month serving the Lord in Poipet!!

Henry and Erica Schmidt and their Supernatural Training School team were in Poipet for a week in early April. They were a tremendous blessing! While I was still teaching at VBCI they went to Angkor Wat and did some spiritual warfare there, so cool!
Once back in Poipet different team members preached at our churches, we visited the slums, did an impromptu concert outside my house, played with a lot of kids, did crafts and yeah pretty much had a Holy Ghost Party wherever we went! ( Henry you're a wild man, its awesome!!)
I believe over 10 people came to the Lord while the team was in Poipet. Praise God!!

2 weeks ago I was woken up by the sound of someone banging on my front door, ( happens quite often actually!) So I went and opened up the door half a sleep and there are two middle aged ladies with a couple kids. They said they wanted to know Jesus!!!! I was like, "Sweet!"
So I invited them in and in my best Khmer try to explain to them who Jesus is and what He did for them. Then I prayed for them and gave them some Bibles and Khmer tracts! It was so random but so God!
The Next day I got the whole story through my translator friend! They were from a village far away and had come to Poipet that day looking for a church and someone told them to come to my house!
So I had my friend lead them in a prayer to accept the Lord and they were both just beaming!!!
Were looking into starting a Church in the their village! I love how God does things!

A hi-lite this last month was burning my leg big time on my Motorbike!! Mercy!!! Its raining a lot now in Poipet so all the roads are becoming total mud pits! I was going to one of our churches and my bike got stuck in the mud and I bit it!
Classic muffler burn on my left leg! I was fine for 2 days and then infection set in and i could hardly walk for 4 days!
Thank God for my main man Boosapaul who is a self trained Doctor! He looked after me pretty good!
My neighbor Lady saw the puss oozing out of my leg one day, goes and gets some weed, puts it in her mouth and chews it, takes it out of her mouth and puts it on my leg!!!! Khmer Style baby, you gotta love it!

Last Sunday 3 new people came to our homechurch and accepted the Lord, it was great! We will most likely have another Baptism in the near future.

As well we are currently looking at buying some land in a new village being developed in Poipet. This village already has 200 homes built but has no church anywhere in sight. Please be praying that God provides the finances for this project and gives me wisdom in how to go about everything.

Please be praying that God sends people to Poipet to help with the harvest!! There is so much need at times its overwhelming! We can do pretty much anything there as long as we have the manpower to do it!

Hope you enjoy these new ones of our two week trip in Nepal!
( Just so some are not offended: There are some pictures of us with Marijuana in these pictures. In these mountainous regions they were growing weed everywhere and harvesting it while we were there. It is a regular cash crop to these people though it is ilegal in Nepal. The Goverment does not bother these 'Hill-tribe' people because they live in such a remote region. We did not partake of any of the weed, we just couldnt believe how much we saw, so we took pictures!)
